Meet the Team

Brandon Tran

Therapy for AAPI folks can and should look different. It should reflect the nuanced experiences of growing up in a Western society, and highlight the unique hardships and experiences that we come across. Through your lens, you experience stress, depression, relationships, and life transitions in a way that is interconnected with your community. For some, this might be your first time getting to know yourself, and for others this will be another stop on your journey with mental health. The courage and self-compassion it takes to begin therapy is magnificent, and I am honored to be a part of your adventure.

I am a second-generation Vietnamese/Chinese Asian-American male, who understands what it is like to navigate cultural differences and the stress that comes with it. I have experience working with individuals and couples navigating cultural differences and exploring how their values show up in their life. With experience in therapy within the education system, I can sympathize on how the needs of AAPI folks must be different for your journey.

At the core of my work is the underlying hope I hold for you in what is possible. Many folks arrive in therapy with a goal, some do not, I want to hold space for each version of you and highlight your strengths. Whether your goals in therapy are to work on a specific problem or find the change you want, I focus on the whole you that exists with friends, family, and with yourself.

Mental health journeys all look different, and I understand what it is like to have limited options for AAPI therapists. If this message resonated with you, I encourage you to reach out and connect with me through email or a free 15-minute phone call consultation.
